Haier’s Expo promotion welcomed
     2010-November-2  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

HAIER’S U-home system has been ranked among Chinese consumers’ favorite concept brands promoted at the Shanghai Expo, according to a survey conducted by Ipsos, a global market research body.

Haier U-Home, a new concept promoted by Haier Group, is a system that uses wireless networks to achieve interconnection between computers, consumer electronics and communication products to create an intelligent household system able to share digital media information.

Besides displaying the smart home concept at the Shandong Pavilion, Haier opened a smart home exhibition area to display more than 50 of its “Internet of things” home appliances at the World Trade Pavilion at the Expo, including refrigerators that can automatically detect stored food and energy-saving washing machines that can calculate washing time.

Analysts said Haier’s promotion of its “Internet of things” through the Expo platform is a marketing classics and has taken a lead in the home appliance industry.

At the Expo, Qingdao Haier and its branches in the United States, Europe and Australia, achieved cooperations with Shandong, U.S., and Italian pavilions, making the enterprise the first in the Expo history to have a multi-sponsorship.

The multi-sponsorship reflects Haier’s strength in different places of the world and its strategy of globalization, said Zhang Tieyan, Haier’s global brand marketing director.(Martin Li)
