A PROJECT launched Oct. 21 to attract overseas professionals to Qingdao has already started receiving applications.

The government project will provide preferential support for the introduction of professionals to the city’s key industries such as ocean exploration and development, ocean security monitoring, marine development and ocean ecological protection.

Industries such as agriculture, the information industry, equipment manufacturing, new energy industries and port logistics will also benefit from the project.

The government will also support the introduction of professionals to key projects like Qingdao Bay Bridge, Jiaozhou Bay undersea tunnel, the Metro project and Dongjiakou port area.

Government support will extend to key science and research parks like the National Oceanographic Center and the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy.(Chen Ting, Jia Feng)
