License plates go online
     2010-November-2  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CAR buyers in Qingdao can now choose and register license plates for their cars online.

The city’s vehicle administration authority launched a licensing information service Oct. 21. It can be accessed via the Internet, telephone and mobile messages.

Those wanting to register a license plate can register their information and reserve a plate ID with the service. Plates will be delivered once the authorities have verified the owner’s information.

Cui Jun, deputy chief of the traffic police department of Qingdao Police Bureau, said: “The site offers other services such as replacement of car plates, vehicle and driver information enquiries, and personal information changes.”

“News of vehicle administration, related regulations and service notices will also be updated on the site,” said Cui.
