QINGDAO’S general domestic product (GDP) in the first three quarters of this year
reached 398 billion yuan, a 13.3 percent increase over the same period last year, according to the city’s statistics bureau.
The city’s GDP came to 2.7 percentage points more than the national average and 0.4 percentage point more than the provincial level in the past three quarters.
Industrial added value in the city’s primary industry grew by 1.1 percent to 18.99 billion yuan in the first three quarters. Added value in the secondary and tertiary industries increased by 14 percent and 13 percent, to 198 billion yuan and 181.18 billion yuan respectively.
In addition, the tertiary industry accounted for 45.5 percent of the city’ economy, up 1 percent compared with the same period of last year.
