A SMALL and medium enterprises (SMEs) public service system was built in Qingdao, aimed at helping SMEs with financial and operational difficulties.

Construction work on the sub-systems was progressing smoothly. Jiaozhou is now promoting a public and professional platform and the SME public service center and an incubator in Chengyang District will be soon move to a new building covering more than 6,000 square meters. Huangdao District sent special staff to help companies with their difficulties and Laixi has spent about 4.2 million yuan in building the platform. Other platforms, such as a software service platform in Laoshan District and a mechanical industry base in Xifu, Chengyang District, are all operating smoothly.

The platforms can provide police guidance, financial support and system construction. The text message platform can send the latest police information to more than 7,000 SMEs and 14 agencies can help companies in areas such as brand registration, patent application, accounting and law services, management consultation and human resource service. At the moment, there are 12 special streets, 15 business parks, 10 special industrial bases and one incubator for newly-graduated businessmen. Some 95 percent of the companies on the platform can make profits.

According to police, the city built an evaluation and monitoring system on the platform which had become an effective channel between SMEs, government and agencies.
