Barbie Hsu and Wang Xiaofei register for marriage in Beijing
     2010-November-18  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

TAIWANESE actress Barbie Hsu and Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei have registered for marriage as the lovebirds who have known each other for less than two months dominate entertainment headlines for a second time, Chinese media reported.

The couple first made headlines in late October when they became engaged on what Hsu described as their fourth date. By then, Hsu and Wang had known each other for only 20 days.

A report on Web site Sohu.com quoted an unnamed close friend of Wang, who said the couple registered their marriage Tuesday in Beijing.

“They registered very quickly,” the source was quoted as saying. “No one recognized them. He (Wang) soon told us the good news via SMS.”

News about the couple has spread quickly on the Internet accompanied by suspicions of a shotgun marriage.

The report said both Wang and Hsu as well as their families were not available for comment.

The couple is reportedly planning a lavish wedding for March on the picturesque island of Hainan in southern China.

Hsu, 34, is a highly popular actress, singer, and TV host. Her latest film is John Woo’s “Reign of Assassins.” Previously, she was romantically involved with Taiwan actors Blue Lan and Vic Chou.

Wang, who is five years younger than Hsu, is executive director of South Beauty, a high-end restaurant chain. He is the only son of the company’s founder and president, Zhang Lan. Wang had just ended a relationship with actress Zhang Yuqi.(CRI)
