A V750 helicopter made by Qingdao Haili Helicopter Co. drew wide attention at the China Airshow which closed Nov. 21, with several top firms expressing a wish to work with the company.

    At present, the company’s factory in the West Coast Export Industrial Park has the capacity to produce 100 helicopters a year, said Yang Jixin, vice general manager of Qingdao Haili.

    Meanwhile, the company also had a cooperation project at the park with Russian Helicopter JSC. The project is the Russian company’s sixth helicopter repair and service center in the world. It can also produce some small and medium-sized helicopters.

    Thanks to the two projects, Qingdao has become Shandong Province’s export base for light helicopters.

    A helicopter test facility covering 20 hectares is now under construction. In addition to Haili and Russian Helicopter, Bridgestone is building a US$14 million aircraft tire production project.
