MORE than 2,000 college students participated in a vocational skills competition, with the winners being awarded the title of national-level technicians.

    It was the first time in Qingdao that students have been certified as technicians.

    The competition had seven categories: computer management, mould design, animation production, hosting, interior decoration design, advertisement design and multimedia production.

    Students from eight universities, including the Ocean University of China and Qingdao University, took part in the competition.

    Just 200 entered the finals.
