THREE standards regulating the city’s housekeeping industry have been launched, a news conference was told Nov. 19.
The standards oversee three categories: care for the elderly, care for new moms and newborns, and baby-sitting.
According to the regulations, housekeeping agents should provide at least 150 hours of training before their nannies can take their first jobs. A main part of the training, at least 60 percent, should be practical classes or on-site internships. Trainers need to have intermediate professional certificates and experience in teaching.
The standards also include details of the basic knowledge and skills required. The training for those caring for the elderly, for example, includes dietary knowledge, first aid, and psychological consultation.
