Industrial parks to attract foreign capital
     2010-December-7  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ORK on the three key industrial parks, including Qingdao National Hi-Tech Zone, Free Trade Zone and Dongjiakou Port Area, has made progress and the city is planning to introduce more foreign investment in the areas to promote the city’s economic development.

Among these, the high-tech zone has become a model area to pilot high technology and new industries while construction of the second stage of the free trade zone has already started and Dongjiakou is planning to develop a harbor economy.

With the support of the three key areas, Qingdao will next promote the development of industrial parks of all kinds to improve its economy. There are now five national economic parks, such as the Qingdao Economic Technology Development Park, free trade harbor zone and export-oriented manufacturing zone, and nine provincial economic parks, including the Qingdao Lingang Industrial Park and the Huanhai Industrial Park.

The city will introduce more enterprisers and projects, particularly through foreign investment, to parks in the area. Meanwhile, construction of the Sino-German Eco-Park will also help the city to build more industrial areas to promote an environmental protection economy and new industry.
