“Journey of Life,” a piano concert integrated with a symphony, percussion, pipe organ, vocal solo and choir, will be staged at Shenzhen Concert Hall on Dec. 19.
It is a musical feast with some fundamental philosophical topics, such as “Who are we?” “Where are we from?” and “Where are we going?”
The audience can recognize these fascinating subjects while listening to the creatively arranged performances of Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor,” Chen Peixun’s “Autumn Moon on a Calm Lake,” Liszt’s “Sonata in B Minor” and the second chapter of Grieg’s “Piano Concerto in A Minor.”
The concert is being presented by a group of talented young musicians mainly from local musical groups and schools. They are led by Kang Yongze, who graduated from the Cologne Conservatory of Music in Germany in 2004 and now a piano teacher at Shenzhen Arts School.
Other performers include organist Fan Zhaoxin, clarinetist Tao Yan, accordionist Li Xinlin, percussionist Zhan Minghui and juvenile vocalist Dou Dou.
