Germany to help build ecological park
     2010-December-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

QINGDAO will cooperate with Germany to build an ecological industry park in the high-tech zone in northern Jiaozhou Bay.

The first stage of the park will cover an area of 5.57 square kilometers.

The city has been involved in preparation for the park construction, and will plan the park in a scientific way and introduce advanced hi-tech industry and high-end service industry from Germany and Europe.

The city came up with the park idea at the beginning of 2008, receiving positive feedback from former German Prime Minister, Gerhard Schroeder, on his visit to the city last year.

The city worked devised initial schemes including construction planning, cooperation mode and operation system earlier this year.

The city established a leading team involving government departments in September to promote the project. (Li Hao, Wang An)
