Software industry to yield ¥100b in 2015
     2010-December-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

INGDAO planned to become a national base for embedded software, taking more than 100 billion yuan in revenue by 2015.

The city will next focus on developing embedded software for intellectual home appliances, telecommunications and intellectual control equipment in the next five years, hoping to improve and upgrade applied software in home appliances, chemicals, vehicles, clothing, communications, electronics, finance and rubber industries.

The city will also promote integrated circuit (IC) design in the next five years, introducing more IC design companies with intellectual property rights in developing embedded operating systems, integrated middleware, Internet middleware and databases.

An information services and online value-added services sector will also be promoted.

The information service sector will mainly provide services such as information technology consultations, operation and repairs, call center services and data processing in manufacturing, trade, e-business, financial services and agriculture.

It will also build large information system projects for manufacturing, electronics, logistics, energy management, communications, environmental protection, community services and medical insurance industries.

The city will also help basic telecommunications operators transform into integrated information service providers, promoting mobile telecommunications value-added services and developing new value-added services such as online mobile Internet and Internet of Things value-added services.

Top companies in the areas will also be introduced to the city. In addition, Qingdao will help incubate six new information service industries, such as digital industrial design, Internet of Things, cloud computing and digital communities, and hold training for software and information service professionals.
