Domestic help service competition launched

    THE Second Domestic Help Service Skills Competition started Dec. 5 in Qingdao, a news conference was told.

    The skills contest will be conducted for a week from Saturday after a written test.

    Nearly 500 registered and 384 were qualified for the contest. Nannies from 15 agencies participate in five categories: care for mother and newborn, baby-sitting, general domestic help, cleaning, and nursing. Of these, 240 were competing in the care for mother and newborn, 75 in baby-sitting and 69 in general household services.

    The written test result is worth 30 percent in the final score and operation skills worth 70 percent.

    Certificates and pay rises will be awarded to winners.
