Studying in a foreign languages school, I was lucky to learn more than one foreign language and culture. This semester our school is offering a new language -- Russian! From what I know, it is a special program available only in our school and I was selected to join in the Russian class. What a great opportunity!

Our Russian teacher Katyusha is very kind. She has shoulder-length blonde hair and always has a friendly smile. Since she used to be an English teacher at home, there is no problem for us to communicate. She is always happy to answer any of our questions about Russia. In her class, so far we have learned the Russian alphabet, famous Russian people and their achievements. It's really interesting and makes me want to keep learning.

As we all know, Russia has been an important country in the international community. I am especially interested in its history, such as its role in World War II. I hope to go to some Russian cities to see with my own eyes. That would be exciting.

I think learning the language will help me because it will be a great tool. When I travel there, I can try to talk with local people. When I read or learn more about Russian culture, knowing some of the language can make me feel a kind of connection to it. I feel my world is growing quite a bit in a new direction by learning Russian.
