    Flamenco spark for ‘Carmen,’ ‘Bolero’

    The Ballet Teatro Espanol de Rafael Aguilar will present two flamenco dance shows, “Carmen” and “Bolero,” in Shenzhen this weekend. The fascinating dance dramas fuse the expressionism of modern ballet with traditional Spanish flamenco.

    Russian musicians on song

    Russian violinists, Gleb Dontsov and Marianna Terteryan, and pianist Nikolay Aleksandrov will be on stage Friday night. They will perform a “Musical Offering” from Bach, “Song of Love” by Joseph Suk and “Golden Cockerel” by Rimsky Korsakov. Proceeds from tickets will be donated to the Green River Organization.

    Multimedia symphony concert

    “Journey of Life,” a piano concert integrated with a symphony, percussion, pipe organ, vocal solo and choir, will be staged at Shenzhen Concert Hall on Sunday. Programs include Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor,” Chen Peixun’s “Autumn Moon on a Calm Lake,” and Liszt’s “Sonata in B Minor.”
