QINGDAO has been chosen as one of the 10 best tourism resorts in China in a selection conducted by Ctrip, a leading tour Web site.
Selections began Oct. 15 and attracted 7.5 million people casting votes for 500 candidates from throughout the world.
The title followed Qingdao being chosen one of the top leisure cities in China, which could be attributed to efforts in recent years to develop a leisure and vacation destination instead of a single sight-seeing spot, said the city’s tourism bureau.
The city has been enhancing tourism to become an appealing destination for vacations, sight-seeing, ocean tours, cultural tours, conferences and business tours and sports events.
In addition, the city has invested in establishing a public information service system, promoting its profile with a variety of events such as international sailing competitions,
Other best tourism resorts include Beijing, Hong Kong, Huangshan, Shanghai and Sanya.
