WIRELESS broadband service is available in major areas in Qingdao.

    Now a pilot city in Shandong Province to develop wireless broadband, Qingdao is constructing 17 projects.

    There are now more than 5,500 3G wireless base stations costing more than 400 million yuan, a 20 percent increase over the first half of this year.

    Wireless Internet access is now available in public places including airports, train stations and major hotels.

    Efforts would continue to have wireless Internet service cover more areas.
