THE Clipper Round the World Yacht Race has selected Qingdao as one of the race legs for the 4th time. Yacht Qingdao will compete in the race from August 2011 to July 2012.

The organizing committee is recruiting nine members of Yacht Qingdao in China and is seeking a design, picture and mascot for Yacht Qingdao.

The Qingdao leg would be organized by a Qingdao government committee. The race will start in the United Kingdom in August 2011, reaching Qingdao in February 2012 and returning to the United Kingdom in July 2012.

There will be eight legs and 10 teams calling at 15 harbor cities. The race will cover 35,000 nautical miles.
