THE China Daily established a bureau in Qingdao on Dec. 17.

    The China Daily had decided to open a bureau in Qingdao because of the city’s increasing recognition and attraction in international communities.

    Qingdao had also been running articles in the newspaper to promote the city.

    The China Daily and Qingdao Municipal Government signed a strategic cooperative agreement on Dec. 17.

    The paper has 29 bureaus covering most major Chinese cities and several bureaus in foreign cities, including Washington, London and Brussels.
