QINGDAO Helicopter Co. Ltd. signed a contract with the Municipal Government of Dali in Yunnan Province, on Dec. 23, to help with the construction of a new helicopter airport.

    Invested by the Qingdao company, the airport will be in Wanqiao Town, Dali, and will be used as a helicopter service base in charge of forestry protection and disaster assistance. Meanwhile, it can also provide facilities for flying training and help local tourism development. The total cost is about 100 million yuan. The first phase of the project will open in the first half of 2012. (Wang Yuanyuan, Yu Feng)
