THE 2010 Wushu Masters Association (WMA) competition was held in the China University of Petroleum in Qingdao Stadium from Dec. 23 to 30.

    The competition was organized by the CCTV Sport Channel, Wushu Sports Management Center of General Administration of Sport of China, China Wushu Association, Federation of University Sport of China and Qingdao Economic Development Management Commission.

    More than 50 wushu masters from Guangzhou Yongxia, Shanxi Xindu, Shanxi Dapeng, Beijing Weixiong and Qingdao Xianghu clubs competed.

    There were 14 matches including the points rounds and elimination rounds.

    There were slight adjustments to the rules for this year’s competition to encourage demonstrations of martial art skills, making the event more entertaining to watch on TV.(Chen Ting, Xu Xu)
