北影明年“造星”减半

    The Beijing Film Academy, one of China’s top colleges in fostering professionals in the film industry, planned to recruit only 30 students for the acting major next year, only half of the number recruited this year, the college said last week.

    “The requirement for the future development of the Chinese film industry is quality rather than quantity,” Li Yingying, an admission official, said.

    The college planned to recruit 488 students for all the majors next year. It will open nine new majors, such as movie creativity and design, production, recording art, special effects and theater management.

    Online applications will be open between January 5 and February 9. Applicants must confirm their applications at the college on February 10. The entrance examination will be conducted on February 13. More details are available on www.sfa.edu.cn.
