INDUSTRIAL output value of the city’s automobile manufacturing industry was more than 100 billion yuan in 2010. A project to produce auto lamps by Nanjing Guige Co. Ltd. was set up in the automobile and car parts industrial zone in Jimo recently.

    There are 20 automobile manufacturing companies and more than 260 car parts manufacturers in Qingdao. Of these, production of heavy duty vehicles accounted for more than 10 percent nationally. By 2012, the output of heavy-duty vehicles is expected to reach 20 billion yuan, while productivity of passenger cars and type B engines can reach 500,000 each and productivity of special vehicles can reach 60,000 with more than 10 billion yuan.

    The lamp project costing 300 million yuan on 6.67 hectares of land will start construction in April and start operating in June 2012. It can produce 1 million packs of lamps a year with sales of 600 million yuan. (Wang Yuanyuan, Lin Gang)
