AN organization providing foreign labor opened Jan. 5 in Jimo, Qingdao.

    The Jimo Foreign Labor Service Platform is the first in Qingdao to serve companies investing overseas or agents for contract employees working overseas.

    It will help to root out illegal labor agencies by forming a standardized and transparent market for overseas workers.

    The organization offers free intermediary labor-recruitment services, advice on government policies, employment guidance, physical checks and training for those willing to work overseas, assistance to those working overseas, as well as labor dispute conciliation and legal aid.

    The organization also serves as a watchdog, supervising contracts and social benefits for laborers.

    The organization is the only legal platform in Qingdao serving overseas workers and would protect their legitimate rights, said a commerce bureau official.
