MORE than 100 children in Qingdao spent New Year’s Day drawing New Year cards for Chinese moon scientists.
Despite the cold weather, the children drew pictures recording the tremendous changes around them, including city life, the Qingdao Bay Bridge and the underwater passage.
Students from Hangzhou Road Primary School produced a 2.4-meter-long and 1.2-meter-wide card to wish all the children in Qingdao a happy New Year.
A group of students, including Liu Shuo, a Grade 2 pupil from Hudao Primary School, and Fan Yalun, a Grade 6 pupil from Hangzhou Road Primary School drew pictures of spaceships.
The pupils wrote a letter to the Chinese moon scientists and expressed their wishes to learn from the scientists. All of the cards would be sent to the scientists, the Qingdao government said. (Jane Lai, Li Huizhan)
