CONSTRUCTION of phase one of Qingdao Metro Line 3 has been progressing quickly.

    Pipeline diversion, transport control, land acquisition and demolition had been completed and work has started on all 22 stations.

    The Metro Line 3 tunnel is expected to be completed by the end of next year and track laying in June, 2013.

    The equipment installation and commissioning should be finished by August, 2014. The Metro will open at end of 2014, according to the Metro’s construction headquarters.

    The city also launched plans for Metro Line 2. A feasibility study report had already been submitted to the National Development and Reform Commission. Plans and designs for Metro Line 2 will be finished before the end of this year.
