BEIJING Film Academy will recruit about 800 students in 11 provinces for its Qingdao Creative Media Institute this year.
The institute, in the Qingdao Development Zone, will focus on digital film technology and art, digital film production and animation production, said Zhang Huijun, president of Beijing Film Academy.
Zhang said the institute would also serve as a platform to integrate academic strength and market resources.
It is equipped with state-of-art 3-D film and animation producing equipment, video facilities, lighting equipment, film processing equipment and theaters. College faculties will employ professors from the Beijing Film Academy.
With support from the Qingdao government and the Export-Import Bank of China, the institute will house the country’s first 3-D animation export base. The Phoenix Island cartoon and animation base, providing CGI production and other services to film companies home and abroad, will take in student interns and provide job opportunities.
