Guangzhou singers to perform pop, ballads

    Four leading singers of the Guangzhou Perfect Music Production will stage a concert featuring Chinese pop songs and ballads at Shenzhen Concert Hall in Futian District on March 26.

    The four singers, Zhao Peng, Tong Li, Jiafei Jia’er and Lan Lan, will also sing “Yesterday” by the Beatles.

    Jialan Jia’er joined the company in 2003 and has recorded several albums. She released three solo albums between 2004 and 2006 and was spoken of highly by enthusiasts. She has also sung many theme songs for TV dramas and movies.

    Tong has released 30 albums since 2005 and was the top 10 singer in Guangdong Province three years in a row since 2006. She has also won two gold prizes at the national folk singing competition and staged concerts in Hong Kong and Macao. She has also been invited to perform at other entertainment activities staged by China Central Television.

    Zhao has learned from well-known singers and professors since he was 16. He had a band in Guangzhou which had a high reputation in the city’s music circles. He has recorded several albums after joining in the company in 2004, singing classical songs in the 1970s and 1980s.

    Graduating from the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, Lan has won several provincial awards and has been invited to perform in Hong Kong and Macao.
