TWO national renewable marine energy projects started operating in Qingdao recently, taking the development of renewable marine energy to a new level.

    The two projects include a test site for wave and tidal energy by the Qingdao Machinery Industry Grenal Co. Ltd. and a test site for a tidal energy power station by Qingdao Histro Iron Tower Co. Ltd. They were independently developed by two companies, an official from the city’s ocean and fishery department said.

    The two projects will be finished in 2012.
