益田中学易名

    The name of Yitian Middle School in Futian District has been changed to Futian District Foreign Languages Senior High School.

    The new name took effect yesterday, March 1. It is Futian District’s first foreign languages senior high school.

    Established in 1998, the school was one of the leading schools in the district with about 2,000 students.

    “We did not just simply change the name. This is an opportunity for us to promote international education and English learning,” said school principal Wang Yuxi.

    After the name change, the school will open several new foreign language courses, including Japanese, Russian, German and French. Two would start this year and more language teachers would be enrolled, Wang said.

    The school also plans to enroll foreign students and assist local students to study in high schools abroad.

    The school will also open international courses for students who plan to attend university abroad.
