U.S.special effects director joins SZ company
     2011-July-18  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ACADEMY Award winner in 2004 for the Best Visual Effects for “Spider Man 2,” Anthony la Molinara, has joined Global Digital Creations Holdings Ltd. in Shenzhen as chief artistic director.

La Molinara’s duty would be early stage planning and production of animation movies, a press conference was told Friday. He refused to reveal his salary in Shenzhen, Saturday’s Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.

“La Molinara is quite interested in Chinese folk and has many thoughtful ideas on Chinese animation,” said Jin Guoping, Global Digital’s executive vice president.

La Molinara participated in “Toy Story 3,” “Stuart Little 3,” “Spider-Man” and “Avatar.”

Headquartered in Hong Kong, Global Digital has the largest computer graphics (CG) production studio in China. It has fully integrated production pipelines and quality control systems in Shenzhen and Shanghai.

In 2005, Global Digital produced full length CG animation movie “Thru the Moebius Strip,” which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and received good reviews.(Cao Zhen)
