The promising Shanghai violinist Huang Mengla will wow audiences with his brilliant technique in the interpretation of Niccolo Paganini's works for violin at Shenzhen Concert Hall on Aug. 14.
Most enthusiasts of Western classical music are aware that Paganini is one of the greatest violinists in history. He was an innovator of violin technique — his "24 Caprices for Solo Violin" requires extremely high skill. This has earned him a reputation as a "magic violinist."
Huang successfully released his debut album "Violin Showpieces" in 2005, the second album "Violinissimo" in 2008, and the new album "Paganini's 24 Caprices" in March 2011. All of these could help audience get a glimpse of this young violinist's performance level.
Born in the 1980s, Huang walked a path which might be admired by many others. He studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and then had the good fortune to learn violin from Yu Lina, one of the best violinists and educators in China. Yu once earned a nationwide reputation by playing "The Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto," one of the most renowned classical violin concertos in China.
In 2006, Huang entered the Royal Academy of Music in London and learned from Gyorgy Pauk, the violin master from Hungary. He got the diploma for concert violinists there in 2008.
