Badly injured dog given new lease on life
     2011-August-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A DOG left for dead on a railway track in Poland has been given a new lease of life with wheels replacing her paralyzed back legs.

Ciuchcia, a four-month-old bitch, was found on the tracks near Lodz in central Poland by a train driver and taken to a nearby animal shelter.

“The phone rang and a man with a very emotional voice said that he thought he had driven over some puppies on the railway tracks,” said Maria Mrozinska of the Piotrkow Trybunalski shelter.

The train driver said he thought two of the puppies were dead, but one was still alive, Mrozinska explained.

Veterinary staff managed to keep the dog alive, but she lost the use of her back legs.

A special wheelchair was constructed for Ciuchcia, which allows her to move around freely with the other animals.(SD-Agencies)
