Young Polish pianist Piotr Zukowski will bring the piano performing tradition and flavor of Chopin’s homeland to Shenzhen Concert Hall on Sept. 18.
As a Chopin worshipper, Zukowski will dedicate a large part of his program to his countryman’s work at the concert — “Ballade in G Minor Op. 23,” “Nocturne in C Minor Op. 48 No. 1,” “Polonaise in C Sharp Minor Op. 27 No. 1,” “Polonaise in A Major Op. 40 No. 2” and “Polonaise in A Flat Major Op. 53.” He will also play A. Scriabin’s “Impromptus Op. 14” and “Preludes Op. 16,” among others.
Born in Poznan, Poland, Zukowski graduated with distinction from the Ignac Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan in 2004.
Although still in his 20s, Zukowski has already garnered more than a dozen prizes in national and international competitions.
For more than a dozen years, Zukowski has graced stages with solo and concerto performances in France, Italy, China, Hungary, Germany and the United States.
