POPULAR Taiwan band The Little Tiger Group also known as Xiaohudui is set to release a new song, the first since the group disbanded in 1996.

    Band member Julian Chen recently confirmed on his microblog that they will get together to sing the theme song for the movie “Duche (literally Traffic Jam).” According to a report by Sina Entertainment, the movie’s production company is planning to invest around 1 million yuan (about US$161,000) in a publicity campaign, including the shooting of a music video and perhaps a touring concert.

    The Little Tiger Group was the most popular band in Taiwan in the late 1980s and early 90s. The three members were Nicholas Wu Qilong, Alec Su Youpeng, and Julian Chen Zhipeng. Most of their fans are those who were young during their heyday.

    The band was invited to perform in the 2010 Spring Festival Gala. They sang some of their classic songs, bringing many listeners down memory lane. Fans have been hoping they could permanently reunite, but prior to this announcement, their own differing schedules had made it impossible.
