McCartney to wed

Paul McCartney is set to tie the knot* at the venue where he first married more than 40 years ago.

Officials said on Friday that the former Beatle and fiancee Nancy Shevell have posted a notice of intention to marry at London's Marylebone Town Hall.

Westminster Council, which oversees* the venue, said the notice was posted last Wednesday, meaning the couple could marry anytime after Sept. 30.

Emmy Awards

The Emmys keep buying what "Mad Men" is selling. The 1960s Madison Avenue saga won its fourth consecutive* best drama series award on Sunday, while "Modern Family" claimed its second best comedy trophy.

While "Mad Men" gained the top drama award, it couldn't pull honors for stars Jon Hamm or Elisabeth Moss.

Highest paid man

Actor Tyler Perry, who has his own film and TV studio in Atlanta, ranks atop the list of Hollywood's highest paid men, in a new ranking from Forbes.com that includes director Steven Spielberg and singer Elton John.

Perry topped the list by making US$130 million from May 2010 to May 2011, financial Web site Forbes.com reported.

Holding the No. 2 position on the Forbes list with US$113 million is producer Jerry Bruckheimer. He is behind the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise*. Spielberg ranks at No. 3 with US$107 million.

Little Tigers to reunite!

Popular Taiwan band The Little Tiger Group also known as Xiaohudui is set to release a new song, the first since the group disbanded* in 1996.

Band member Julian Chen recently confirmed on his microblog that they will get together to sing the theme song for the movie "Duche (literally Traffic Jam)."

The group was the most popular band in Taiwan in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The three members were Nicholas Wu Qilong, Alec Su Youpeng, and Julian Chen Zhipeng.
