Shenzhen Middle School (SMS) and Shenzhen Foreign Languages School (SFLS) are able to recommend students to Qinghua University in Beijing this year.
The SMS can recommend two students to the university, while the SFLS has one quota, according to a list announced by the university last week.
The recommended students, which are enrolled under the university's self-enrollment program, could add 60 points at the National Collage Entrance Examinations (NCEE).
A total of 221 middles schools across the country are on the list.
The two schools said they were very honored to be on the list and would rigorously select the most suitable students.
"The winning students will not only achieve high scores in their studies, but also show proficiency in areas such as leadership and logical thinking," said an official from the SMS surnamed Xing.
Many students at the schools are relishing the competition.
"Although there are only two quotas, it is like opening a brand-new gate for us to enter our dream university. It is a great encouragement for young students like me and I will try my best to make full use of my middle school life and be one of them when I am on Senior 3," said Wu Qian, a Senior 1 student at the SMS.
