French pianist Richard Clayderman will present a feast of melodious music at Shenzhen Stadium on Dec. 29 to welcome the New Year.
Since his first performance in China in 1992, Clayderman has won hearts with his magnificent tone, elegant melodies and good looks. Until recently, he has given a total of 60 performances in dozens of cities in China in front of over 800,000 people.
Clayderman has always had a fascination with Chinese music. He has adapted lots of Chinese songs and music into piano pieces, which include “A Large River,” “Butterfly Lovers,” “Folk Songs Flow Like the River Water in Spring,” “Love Is Like a Tide” and “I Love Beijing’s Tiananmen Square.” No other foreign artist has adapted so much Chinese music.
Born in 1953, Clayderman is known for his interpretation of contemporary music and has established an international career as a best-selling recording artist and concert performer.
He started learning piano at 5 and entered the Paris National Conservatory of Music at the age of 12, when he already showed a talent for classical music. However, he became famous for crossover music afterwards. (Larry Tam)
