    Katy Perry to divorce

    Russell Brand is divorcing Katy Perry after 14 months of what appeared to be a storybook marriage.

    “Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage,” Brand said in a statement released on Friday. He and the 27-year-old pop singer were married in October 2010 at a resort* inside a tiger reserve* in India.

    Beyonce’s baby girl

    The Web was ablaze* on Friday with rumors that Beyonce had delivered a baby girl in New York, and that she has been named Tiana May Carter.

    The singer and her hip-hop mogul* husband, Jay-Z, reportedly reserved an entire floor of St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan, according to the gossip Web site Media Take Out. Beyonce, 30, revealed she was pregnant at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards in August.

    Zhou Xun tries directing

    The award-winning actress, Zhou Xun, has recently released the trailer* of a short film that she directed. The trailer of “Five Demon Traps” features actor Tony Leung Chiu-wai as a demon killer.

    Leung costars with Zhou in Derek Yee’s movie drama “The Great Magician,” to be released on January 12. Zhou said that her film was inspired by a scene in “The Great Magician.”

    Most-pirated movies

    “Fast Five,” “Hangover II” and “Thor” were among the most-pirated movies of 2011, according to a new list from the blog TorrentFreak.

    “Fast Five,” which grossed US$626.1 million worldwide, was downloaded nearly 9.3 million times on BitTorrent, according to TorrentFreak. That’s a far cry from last year’s chart-topper, “Avatar,” which was downloaded more than 16 million times. (SD-Agencies)
