MORE services are offered to make it more convenient for travelers to leave and come to Shenzhen during the Spring Festival transport season.
A new stop for the airport shuttle buses has opened next to the Shenzhen Airline Building Bus Station on Shennan Boulevard, Futian District so that travelers living in Tairan and Zhuzilin areas can get to the airport easily.
The new station opens from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and the bus fare is 15 yuan (US$2.38 yuan).
The Shekou Port will open 36 additional ferries from Friday to Jan. 28. Among the ferries, 30 are to the Hong Kong airport, while six head to Macao. Nineteen of the additional ferries will operate from Jan. 23 to 25.
The city’s Metro will also extend its service to midnight Jan. 20, 23, 27 and 28.
Meanwhile, about 580,000 people are expected to enter and leave Shenzhen through checkpoints every day on average during the seven-day holiday, increasing by 8 percent over the same period of last year, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.
The Luohu and Shenzhen Bay checkpoints will open from 6:30 a.m. to midnight as usual, while Huanggang Checkpoint will open around the clock and Futian Checkpoint will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Travelers can also choose to go to Hong Kong through other checkpoints such as Shekou Checkpoint (from 7:15 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.), Airport Checkpoint (the same as the flight arrival time), Fuyong Checkpoint (8 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and Shatoujiao Checkpoint (7 a.m. to 10 p.m.).
Wenjindu Checkpoint is now closed for reconstruction.
