Victim’s sister advertises herself to trap killer
     2012-February-13  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE sister of a victim of a serial killer is trying to lure the murderer into a honey trap by offering herself for sex online.

Kimberly Overstreet’s desperate move followed the killing of her prostitute sister Amber, who used the Craigslist Web site to advertise her services.

Police believed a serial killer could be responsible for the deaths of 10 people, some of whom advertised as escorts on the site.

Kimberly, who has worked as an escort herself, has now placed ads on Craigslist in a bid to track the killer.

Despite official warnings about sex workers using the site, she said she is frustrated at the slow pace of the police investigation.

Dubbed the Long Island serial killer after the area in New York where the bodies were found dumped, the case started after the disappearance of 24-year-old Shannan Gilbert, a New Jersey prostitute who advertised on the site.

Amber disappeared in September 2010, and her body was found in December 2010 dumped in a cloth potato sack alongside the remains of three other victims on Long Island.
