The city’s first volunteer center to promote science opened at Children’s Palace on Sunday.
The center will invite volunteers to help promote science and hold scientific activities, Children’s Palace officials said.
Students and parents interested in science are invited to volunteer on a regular basis.
Children’s Palace is the city’s largest and most functional venue for afterschool education. There are seven science exhibition halls, with areas that focus on physics, mathematics, mechanics, electronics, communication and aviation. Children’s Palace also features other facilities such as a 4-D cinema. Since it opened in 2005, more than 1 million students have visited the venue, free of charge.
Public performances and activities are held in the palace on a regular basis, along with student activities such as a design competition for youth, children’s opera and a child growth forum.
The palace is recruiting volunteers for public activities. Students who are interested in education and science can apply for the posts.
