    Deng Hanneng

MORE than 40 artworks by Yan Jiakuan, a Hubei artist famous for landscape painting, are on display at Guan Shanyue Art Museum.

Eight paintings are 2 meters high and 5 meters wide, among the largest landscape paintings ever exhibited in China.

They depict the physical world that Yan has traveled, including deserts in Australia, valleys along the Yangtze River and mountains amid the Shenlongjia forests.

This spring, his painting “Spring Water” was auctioned by Poly International Auction for 60,000 yuan (US$9,441) per square meter.

Some works on display at Guan Shanyue Art Museum have been sold to collectors. Yan said part of the proceedings will be donated to the Yan Jiakuan Scholarship Fund, which the artist established to help young art students.

Time: 9 a.m.-5 p.m., through April 4, closes on Mondays

Venue: Guan Shanyue Art Museum, 6026 Hongli Road, beside Lianhua Hill Park, Futian District
