Bo Xilai investigated
     2012-April-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AS Comrade Bo Xilai is suspected of involvement in serious discipline violations, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has decided to suspend his membership in the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and the CPC Central Committee.

The CPC’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection will file the case for investigation.

These actions fully display the respect for facts and the rule of law, and are entirely consistent with the Party’s basic requirements for strict discipline of its members and the Party’s governing philosophy of running State affairs according to law, the People’s Daily, the Party’s flagship newspaper, said in a commentary yesterday.

The actions also showcase the Party’s determination to keep its purity, and the clear stand of the Party and government to safeguard Party discipline and the laws of the State. The actions will earn support from all members of the Party and the public, the commentary said.

Based on the facts made public so far, the Wang Lijun incident is a serious political event leaving very negative impacts at home and abroad, the article said.

Bo has seriously violated Party discipline, damaging the cause and image of the Party and State, it said.

China is a socialist country ruled by law, and the sanctity and authority of law shall not be trampled. Whoever has broken the law will be handled in accordance with law and malfeasance will not be tolerated, no matter who is involved and no matter what position he is in, the article said.

There is no privileged citizen before the law. The Party does not tolerate any special member who is above the law. No one can interfere with law enforcement and anyone who violates the law cannot be at large.

Shenzhen authorities and representatives of people of all walks of life yesterday voiced their strong support to the decision by the CPC Central Committee. (Xinhua)
