The Golden Lily
     2012-July-25  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

“The Golden Lily” is the second installment of Richelle Mead’s Bloodlines series, the companion to her other best-selling young adult series, Vampire Academy.

As critics said, the first book is good and hooks the reader, but the second one is exponentially better.

The book picks up where Bloodlines left off, with human alchemist* Sydney Sage continuing her undercover* mission of keeping the vampire* princess Jill in hiding at a private California school.

Having spent a great deal of time with the other members of the operation, Sage begins to question her alchemist beliefs. Everyone except her is either a vampire or dhampir*.

The alchemists merely keep their existence a secret from other humans, but with this mission Sage must work and live with them.

So far those in charge have not witnessed their loyalty* and determination as she has, and she finds herself growing more comfortable with the group, particularly Adrian Ivashkov. When new threats arise, like the possibility of a vampire hunting sect, things are about to get more complicated.
