The Hong Kong crime thriller “Cold War” will be the opening film at this year’s Busan International Film Festival, the leading film festival in South Korea and one of the biggest in Asia.
Co-directors Sunny Luk and Longman Leung announced the news on Monday in Hong Kong.
After the world premiere on October 4 in Busan, the film will be theatrically released on October 18 in China as well as Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand, according to the directors.
Featuring a star-heavy lineup that includes Tony Leung Ka-fai, Aaron Kwok and Charlie Young, “Cold War” follows a police rescue operation which leads to a deadly confrontation between two sides of high-level police officers. Andy Lau appears in a cameo* role.
The 17th Busan International Film Festival will run from October 4 to 13. (SD-Agencies)
