Justin Timberlake marries

Hollywood couple Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have married in southern Italy, People magazine said on October 19.

“Sexy Back” singer and actor Timberlake, 31, and “Total Recall” actress Biel, 30, have been dating on and off since 2007. They announced their engagement at the beginning of 2012, and carefully shielded* the details of their nuptials* from the public.

‘Rust and Bone’ named best pic

“Rust and Bone,” Jacques Audiard’s soaring story of love, loss and killer whales, was named best picture at the London Film Festival on October 20.

The movie is a thriller-cum-melodrama* about the unlikely relationship between a bare-knuckle* boxer (Matthias Schoenaerts) and a whale trainer, played by Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard, who suffers a tragic workplace accident.

Beyonce to perform at Super Bowl

Beyonce will rock the halftime show at the upcoming Super Bowl, which is set for February 3, 2013 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

The NFL confirmed the news on October 16 after the singer posted a picture on her Tumblr page with “Feb 3” and “2013” written on her face — the date of the game. Beyonce, 31, has won 16 Grammy Awards.

De Niro receives new award

Robert De Niro has been chosen as the 2012 recipient* of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film, the SBIFF announced on October 16.

The annual honor, which in the past has gone to the likes of Michael Douglas, Quentin Tarantino and Harrison Ford, is one of the first awards in what might be called the flip side of awards season, in which publicity campaigns are given boosts by lifetime achievement awards and special citations from the likes of the Santa Barbara and Palm Springs Film Festivals.
