《乌云背后的幸福线》
Adapted by David O. Russell, the film is based on a novel by Matthew Quick.
Former high school teacher Pat (Bradley Cooper) has spent eight months at a mental hospital after he beat up his wife's lover.
"I'm remaking myself," he says, vowing to find the silver lining* in every situation. Pat believes this is the way to win back his wife Nikki (Brea Bee), who has filed a restraining order* against him.
His loving mom (Jacki Weaver) drives him back home to Philly* anyway.
When he throws a Hemingway paperback out of the window for not liking its negative* ending, he gets into a quarrel with his dad (Robert De Niro).
Having lost his job and his pension, Pat Senior runs a small betting operation. He loves his home football team, the Philadelphia Eagles, so much that he has been banned from the stadium for starting fights.
So far, so manic*. But wait, there's more! Pat soon meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a young, beautiful widow suffering depression*.
Stubbornly* fixated* on Nikki, Pat gets Tiffany to help send her a letter. In exchange*, Tiffany asks that he join her in a dance competition. The two have to spend long periods of time practicing in her garage* studio.
"Silver Linings Playbook" is a conventional* romantic comedy. All the actors and actresses have done a great job. It is fun, sharp and sometimes moving, but it's not reinventing any kind of wheel.
