Filmmaker Forman earns DGA prize
Two-time Academy Award winner Milos Forman, 80, will receive the Directors Guild of America’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Achievement in Motion Picture Direction at the 65th annual DGA Awards on February 2.
“It’s a tremendous privilege* to present the DGA Lifetime Achievement Award for feature film to one of the greatest filmmakers of our time, Milos Forman,” said DGA President Taylor Hackford in a statement on November 28.
Perry, Jepsen get Billboard honors
Katy Perry and Carly Rae Jepsen shared the spotlight at the Billboard Women in Music Event on Friday, where the two starlets were the guests of honor.
Perry earned the highly coveted Billboard Woman of the Year title for the massive success of “Teenage Dream” and “Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.”
Jepsen earned the Rising Star Award for the success of her incomparably catchy* “Call Me Maybe.”
Psy brings ‘Gangnam Style’ to HK
South Korean pop sensation Psy was the big winner at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in Hong Kong on Friday, with thousands of fans a screaming testament* to the spread of K-pop and “Gangnam Style.”
The 34-year-old, wearing a white suit and baggy* checkered* pants, not only performed his infectious* tune at the Korean music awards show, he also picked up awards for song of the year, best music video, best dance performance and global favorite artist.
Hugh Hefner to wed 26-yr-old ex
Eighty-six-year-old Playboy tycoon Hugh Hefner is once again engaged to 26-year-old Crystal Harris, his ex-fiancee* who famously called off the couple’s June 2011 wedding just five days prior to the scheduled big day, according to TMZ.
The on-again pair are reportedly set to tie the knot at the Playboy Mansion on New Year’s Eve. Unlike their previous plans to say “I do” in front of 300 guests, Hefner and Harris will purportedly* exchange vows during an intimate gathering in front of close friends and family members.
